Outdoor lovers all over the world have used and trusted National Geographic maps to be their guides in the field since 1915. Adventure travelers, backpackers, hikers and others love the brilliantly illustrated topography and detailed trail information, and they especially appreciate the newest software that lets people print out any map they want. Now for the first time there is a new handheld GPS device-the Active 10-that offers the electronic version of National Geo's award winning Topo!, Trails Illustrated and AdventureMaps, and it all fits neatly in your pocket.

Topo! is a gorgeous, colorful contour map software package that allows users to create and print their own custom topographical maps with seamless USGS quadrangles. The application comes with atlas maps for the United States, and enables you to purchase detailed maps, aerial images, and hybrids from their Map Store.

Trails Illustrated has over 165 titles available for America’s favorite outdoor destinationsand are some of the most trusted and popular recreation maps available. Each map is crafted in conjunction with local land managers, and contains detailed topographic information, clearly marked and named trails, recreational points of interest, and navigational aids.

AdventureMaps pinpoint worldwide travel spots teeming with one of a kind, vibrant recreational opportunities, individual regional societies with a focus on environmental sustainability. Each map contains a tasteful blend of geographical data and important infrastructure, as well as points of interest like national parks, preserves and hot spots for adventure activities like surfing, diving or kayaking, all tailored to the needs of today's outdoor adventurer.

Now, thanks to a partnership with Satmap, parts of the National Geographic maps library will be supported on a GPS palm unit called Active 10 TREK. The National Geographic maps are loaded with data and preset points of interests, which make them ideal for travel in a variety of remote locations around the world. The handheld unit has lots of handy features also, including an extended battery life, a well-lit, color screen, tough construction and a fast processor, all of which would make finding your way around in those faraway places a little easier.
