What's Killing the Birds and Fish?
by captkujo.com
January 6, 2011

Conspiracy theorists and 2012 end-time fanatics are having a heyday. Scientists are scratching their heads. Locals whose economies depend on outdoor tourism are shaking in their boots. Why? Something is killing of thousands of fish and birds plus other wildlife, and no one really knows the cause.

It all started in a place called Beebe, Arkansas on New Year's Eve 2010 when about 2,000 dead black birds fell from the sky. Locals reported it looking like a scene from "Outbreak" when dozens of U.S. Environmental Services personnel wearing respirators and hazmat suits spent the day picking up the birds, climbing on rooftops and lurking in between their homes.

Soon after, also in Arkansas, came another mass kill, this time of drum fish--over 100,000 of them--who had washed up along the Arkansas River.

A few days later, in Labarre, Louisiana, reports came in of about 1,000 blackbirds and starlings found dead.

Then on January 4th and 5th a large number of dead birds were found in the city of Falkoping, Sweden.

In Maryland, authorities are investigating the deaths of about 2 million fish in Chesapeake Bay in an incedent that happened at about the same time as the other fish kills.

Also adding to the mystery, on January 5th more than 40,000 dead Velvet swimming crabs washed ashore along Britain's east coast in the county of Kent.

Of course the casual observer might be quite alarmed by all of these stories of wildlife deaths coming all at once like this, but is there a reason to be concerned? Is this the 'circle of life' as some scientists are saying? Is it climate change? Or maybe there's some other, more sinister explanation.

Some people, the conspiracy theorists mostly, believe the governments of the world actually know what is going on, but are not divulging the information to the public. Others take it a step futher and say it's the work of new, super secret weaponry being tested in the skies. Others take a more pragmatic approach, though still frightening. They say, and many scientists concur, that much of the cause is from climate change and abnormal cold temperatures, especially for the fish and crabs. Others point to the earth's magnetic fields and how birds use them to navigate. Did a solar flare cause a distortion in the magnetic fields?

Officials in Sweden are saying that autopsy reports indicate the birds were killed by blunt force trauma. Something thumped them in the heads while they were flying, which leads to intgriguing speculation but still leaves lots of questions.

Whatever the cause of these startling mass kills, one thing is for sure--this story is just beginning.
